Euxyl® PE 9010

Description

Euxyl® PE 9010 is a liquid preservative used in cosmetic and personal care applications that is based on phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin. The addition of ethylhexylglycerin reduces the interfacial tension at the cell membrane of microorganisms, and improves the antimicrobial activity. It is a broad spectrum preservative that is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and mold. It is suitable for a broad range of cosmetic and personal care applications, both in leave-on and wash-off product types. It is important to note that Euxyl® PE 9010 does show a loss of efficacy when in the presence of ethoxylated surfactants.
